Qualifications & Place of Study:  ND – Jazz – Leeds College of Music Grade 5 in music theory

Favourite show played: Playing weird heavy Jazz/Metal originals to over 10,000 people at NH7 Weekender in Pune, India and them all going crazy for it 😀

Desert Island Disc: My taste is shifting constantly but at the minute I guess it would be Menuhin meets Shankar

What you love about music: The power it has to transcend cultural and even language barriers to bring people together in understanding and happiness. Music has taken me all around the world and let me interact with people and cultures that I never thought I would be able to otherwise.

Biography:

Luke Reddin-Williams is a Mercury Prize and Mobo Award nominated drummer/percussionist based in Leeds, UK. After leaving Leeds College of Music in 2010, Luke founded the Jazz/Rock/Electronica group Roller Trio whose first eponymous album was nominated for the 2012 Mercury Prize. Since then, he has toured around the world with multiple projects, chief among them anti-establishment Jazz/Punk group WorldService Project, with whom he discovered and fell deeply into the world of Indian Classical music; subsequently this influence has seeped into his Western music playing and he is now attempting to bring those two worlds together in his upcoming work. Luke is currently a Drumset ,Tabla and Sitar tutorworking with students of all ages and backgrounds.
